Darusalaam International Academic School is a primary and secondary school located in Mogadishu, Somalia. It was established in 2016 with the objective of enabling children to receive the highest international standard of academics in their motherland. Located in one of the fastest growing areas (Darusalaam City).
The school has adopted the British IGCSE curriculum and its graduates flourish in society. Along with academics, the school is founded on strong Islamic morals. The holy Quran, Islamic Studies and Arabic are part of the curriculum. Students memorize the Quran at a young age and understanding the meaning is emphasized.The boys and girls sections are completely separate and a strict discipline policy is followed. Today, the role of a school is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to motivate and empower its students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever-changing global society. In August 2016, Darusalaam International Academic School pledged to transform education not only in Somalia but across the globe. At DIAS, we provide an atmosphere to our students for multifaceted development, where children are encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence. This can only be possible in a holistic, student-centric environment. The talents, skills, and abilities of each student need to be identified, nurtured, and encouraged so that he/she is able to reach greater heights. Students need a platform to think, express, and exhibit their skills. It is necessary to empower them to negotiate several issues that confront them, with the teacher being a facilitator. The school is striving hard to make the best possible efforts to inculcate strong values combining with academics and extra-curricular activities in the children…
