Welcome message from the Principal

DIAS Mogadishu

Dear Sir/Madam

Alhamdulilah- it is my pleasure to welcome everyone and share my message with you through this wonderful website of Daarusalaam International Academic School (DIAS). It has only been a year ago when the doors of DIAS were officially opened, but the impact and influence it has in our great city (Mogadishu) and beyond has been outstanding. DIAS is unique institution dedicated to providing affordable and accessible high quality education with passion, caring and mutual respect that can best be described as “affordable excellence”.

In the light of this, I’d like to welcome each of you to a new academic year 2017-2018 of discovery at our Darusalaam International Academic School. Your school team has been hard at work, preparing for opening day and for the excitement of the year ahead. The enthusiasm around this new location is energizing. Insha Allah, each year we will work towards another opening day and each year our efforts are always met with sheer joy and excitement of your beloved children – it is a day like no other and truth be told it is one of our most favourite of the school year. Each school year begins with seemingly everything new. New start, new grade, some new teachers and many new school initiatives to enjoy.

Our school improvement plan is centered on Inquiry based IGCSE education. Your school team is ready, willing and dedicated to providing a quality education with high expectations for learning and with zero tolerance of any kind of abuse either physical or verbal. We will treat your child with great respect in building their minds and moral capacity through academic counselling (group/individualizing) and in a safe environment. Together we are looking forward to meeting and working with you to improve our school and the positive educational experience. We will continue to encourage parents to cooperate with us fully in order to put the best interest of our children into practice the foundation of our Islamic values and learned ways which is also a vital component of our curriculum.

New Staff with new ideas, new initiatives are all waiting for you and your child at your Darusalaam International Academic School. We need you all to join in and be active members of our School Parent Committee to meet the demands of the real-world so that our children may become productive citizens, become our future leaders, and contribute and/or give back something positive to the community. You are a critical decision making group responsible for the success of our future generation. Together we make the difference.

Yours Sincerely,

Dr. Hassan Farah,
